N. V. Elvant writes stories about memory, inheritance, belonging, and the ways the past continues to shape us. Her fiction is drawn to the space between the ordinary and the unexplained, where family histories linger and certainty is not always possible.
She grew up in Massachusetts, where her debut novel, Rooted in Willow: Inheritance, is set. Like her protagonist, Aylin, she made the transition from a small school into a much larger one, an experience that informs the novel’s exploration of adolescence, identity, and the complicated desire to belong.
Rooted in Willow: Inheritance is a young adult psychological coming of age novel with speculative elements and the first book in the Rooted in Willow series.

Beyond the Page
Stories have always been how I make sense of the world.
I'm drawn to the quiet moments that shape us, the memories we carry, the places that remain with us long after we've left them, and the relationships that continue to echo through generations. My writing explores identity, family, resilience, and the unseen threads that connect ordinary lives to something lasting.
When I'm not writing, you'll usually find me researching history, walking through places that preserve the past, or gathering the small details that eventually find their way into a story.
Thank you for being here. I hope the stories you find on these pages stay with you long after you've finished reading them.
